1. Entry into this Competition shall be open to all Bowling clubs that are affiliated to the Salisbury and District Bowling Association.

 2. The Winner shall be awarded and hold ‘the Herbie Turner Trophy’ until the 31st August of the following year. The trophy will be returned to the Hon. Secretary of the Bowling Association on or prior to this date.

 3. An Emergency Committee of Executive Members of the Salisbury and District Bowling Association shall determine all questions and disputes that may arise and which do not come within the scope of the Competition Secretary whose decision will be final.

 4. The draw shall be made by the Executive Committee and all matches must be completed by the date given.

 5. For the purpose of the draw, the Club drawn first shall be known as the Challengers and will offer their opponents in each round, (excluding the Final for which the date will have already been fixed) within 48 hours of receipt of the draw of the closing date of each round, at least three dates, one of which must be a Saturday or Sunday. The opponents shall, within 48 hours of receipt of challenge, reply accepting one of the dates offered. The League Secretary shall be notified forthwith of the result of each round by the winning Club.

 6. The Final of the Competition shall be played on the weekend of week number 32 of the Bowls England Standardised Week Calendar.

 7. The Final will be played on the Vice President’s Green.

 8. Each Team competing shall be represented by twelve players (12) comprising four (4) triples.  Clubs may make more than one entry but no player shall represent more than one team in any one season.

 9.Two (2) triples shall play at home and the other two upon the Green of their Opponents. Both home and away halves of the game are to be played on the same day and at the same starting time.

10. The game shall consist of eighteen (18) ends, three (3) bowls each bowler, and the result of the game shall be decided by the difference between the four triple aggregates of the Teams.

 11. An extra end must be played on the green of the challenger only. The shots gained on this end will only count if the game is tied after the normal 18 ends. The rink to play the extra end will be drawn prior to the commencement of the game.

 12a.If a Team provides fewer than twelve (12) bowlers for a game, then the rink(s) comprising fewer than three (3) bowlers, will be considered void. The non-offending Team will be awarded nine (9) shots for each such rink and their Opponents none.

 12b.If a Team or rink(s) of that Team are unable to commence play within fifteen (15) minutes of the agreed start time, that Team or rink(s) will be considered void and shots will be awarded as in (12a).

 13. In the event of no decision being reached during rounds owing to exceptional weather conditions and inability to re-arrange the round before the completion date, then the Emergency Committee shall arbitrate on the matter.

 14. Trophies will be presented on Presentation Evening.

 15.If in the event the final having to be abandoned for any reason, if a total of 40 ends have been played the result at the cessation of the match shall stand.

 16. If the match is abandoned prior to 40 ends being completed, or if the match is not played, the two finalists will share the cup for that year.

13.In the event of no decision being reached during rounds owing to exceptional weather conditions and inability to re-arrange the round before the completion date, then the Emergency Committee shall arbitrate on the matter.

14.Trophies will be presented on Presentation Evening.

15.If in the event the final having to be abandoned for any reason, if a total of 40 ends have been played the result at the cessation of the match shall stand.

16.If the match is abandoned prior to 40 ends being completed, or if the match is not played, the two finalists will share the cup for that year.
